Downloading and Burning

1) Download and install BitTorrent here. This is really easy, and there really isnt anything to say.
2) Start your free Xandros download by clicking here. (make sure BitTorrent is installed)
The BitTorrent program will pop up and ask you where to save. Go ahead and save to any place, just remember.
The downloading will take about an hour to two hours on a high speed connection. Go watch some TV!
3) After Xandros is downloaded, unzip the Xandros zip file (xandros-302-oce-installation.zip) with your favorite unzipping program.

4) Burn the xandros ISO file to a cd. Be sure you burn this as a bootable ISO image or it will not work...
Here's how to do it in CDBURNERXP:

a] Open up the program and select "Create a new Data-CD/RW, Date-DVD/RW, Video-DVD or create and/or burn an ISO image. You can also erase a disc or convert and ISO image."

b] Select FILE > Write a disk from ISO File...

c] Broswe for the xandros ISO file.

d] Once you got a blank cdr inseted, click "Write Disc"

e] It may take a while to burn. But when it does, move on.

BIOS Work

Here's the part where you might need your computer instructions (look for boot sequence in your motherboard booklet).

With all computers, you will have to press a certain key on your keyboard when you see your computer's manufactor right after turning on. You will probably have press it more than one times. Here's what my computer looks like. It will say something like "F12 - Setup" or "Press F5 for setup". That will tell you what key to press mulitple times.

Here's where you would press that key. In this case, press F1.

Now, after a lot of pushing you will see the BIOS menu. Dont expect anything fancy!

Now you will have to look around for the boot options. Refer to your instructions or just mess around until you find it.

For the first boot device, select CD-ROM.
For the second device select HARD DISK. If you have 2 drives, it will probably be Hard Disk 0.

Now hit ESC untill you are back to the main menu. Choose something like SAVE or EXIT AND SAVE.

Now exit the BIOS.

YOUR DONE!

Booting

Now insert the Xandros cdrom you burned and restart the computer.
